Linkage has many wonderful supporters, some choosing to support us for one-off events (which is always appreciated and welcomed), and some pledging more long-term support like The Mayor of North East Lincolnshire.
On taking office in May 2017, Cllr Ron Shepherd, Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, nominated Linkage and The Carers’ Support Service as his charities of the year. Chosen because of the services we provide to the local community in improving the lives of residents in the area, the Mayor has spent the last 9 months actively championing Linkage and raising highly appreciated funds for us.
He has held heritage open days, a Christmas Charity Ball, a coffee morning, a cheese and wine evening, a raffle in aid of the mayoral charities at an Armed Forces Ball, and in July 2017 he swapped his robes for shorts to run the DONG Energy Great Grimsby 10k.
As the first year of his mayorship comes to a close Mr Mayor is not easing up on the fundraising, he is using final few months to raise as much money and awareness for Linkage and The Carers’ Support Service as possible.
