Our Practical Small Animal Care Skills course is for students who are interested in working with small animals. Within our exciting new purpose-built Small Animal Care Centre unit you will have access to an assortment of small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and hamsters.
You will learn how to recognise and identify different species, their body parts and functions, and the different housing, bedding and exercise areas each animal requires. You will also be involved in the enrichment and general health and well-being of the animals and will be taught how to care for them. This is a hands-on learning experience in which you will assist with correctly handling, cleaning, watering and feeding the animals in Linkage College’s care.
