We thrilled to announce that our residential property Abbey House in Grimsby has been rated as OUTSTANDING by the CQC.
Through Linkage Care we help hundreds of people with learning disabilities aged 18+ to gain new skills, become more confident and live more independently. Abbey House is one of our Residential Care properties which offers people a home environment with 24/7 care supervision. It accommodates 13 people, the majority of which are learners at Linkage College.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection process looks at the quality of care we deliver. Following an inspection on 5th December, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) say the service at Abbey House is:
The CQC report stated that:
“The genuinely caring and inclusive culture at the service was outstanding. Staff demonstrated extremely caring values and showed a very positive regard for what was important and mattered to people. Staff were compassionate and kind and went ‘above and beyond’ to ensure people received positive outcomes. The trust developed between people and staff helped promote people’s independence, confidence and helped them achieve excellent outcomes.”
In addition, they commented:
“Staff found ways to improve people’s lives by introducing creative activities that opened new possibilities for people and encouraged them to be active and healthy.”
“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible.”
We are incredibly proud of this rating. The achievement reflects the incredible hard work put in place at Abbey House, the College and across the Care directorate. It is brilliant that the service and our team at Abbey House is gaining the recognition it deserves.
