Humberside Police support Linkage

Posted: 25/10/2018

Supporting young people to develop the skills and behaviours needed to transition into adulthood with a greater amount of independence is central to everything we do at Linkage College.

Exploring social and cultural topics are important to building learners’ understanding of social and cultural matters and the world they live in.

At our Weelsby campus, we have great links with the local police force, Humberside Police.  Sergeant Shane Jackson and PCSO Jessica Garrod who regularly visit the college to engage with our learners. They deliver workshops around a variety of important topics such as:

  • Internet safety
  • Run, Hide, Tell safety guidance
  • Drug Abuse
  • The risks during Halloween and Bonfire night

Sessions also include a Q&A session where learners can discuss any issues or topics which are particularly relevant to them.

We would like to say thank you to Sergeant Shane Jackson and PCSO Jessica Garrod. They do a fantastic job in helping build familiarity and trust between our learners and the police. Their input is invaluable in building learner confidence and independence.
