Employability Partnerships

Linkage receives donation from Ridgid Tools.

Employment is about far more than income.

National data states that only 5.1% of individuals in the UK with an Education and Health Care Plan are in paid employment. As a result, people with a learning disability are seven times more likely to experience social isolation, that elevates the risk of experiencing serious mental and physical health issues.

Securing a job provides access to more than just financial independence; it promotes self-esteem, structure, community, wellbeing, and purpose.

Why partner with us?

Linkage Employability educates, supports, and connects interns from across the Trust with local and national employers, emboldening those in our service with the skills and confidence necessary to aspire for more while inviting job-creators to modernise and improve their workplaces.

Our fast-growing initiative has partnered with organisations such as the NHS, Tesco, Oxfam, Ridgid Toolshop, and Willmott Dixon, to name a few. Through these diverse collaborations, employers have offered our interns paid employment and work experience placements. They have hosted workshops, talks, and guided tours. Both our interns and employers have found these placements and forums to be profoundly enriching, inspiring and beneficial.

“Employing people with learning disabilities has enriched our workplace with diverse perspectives and unique skills, fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment that benefits all.”
– Dave, Pipe Tools

Improving your workspace

Linkage ensures that each of its interns are supported throughout their placements to become independent and effective as possible. Our service offers employers comprehensive training packages including inclusivity and best working practices, These nationally recognised accreditations not only fulfil equality and diversity benchmarks, but make working environments substantially better for all employees.

Partnering with Linkage’s Employability Service is an invitation to all employers to help dispel myths and dissolve barriers that unwittingly exclude many of the country’s most talented, hard-working, and aspirational individuals.
