In June this year the ‘Pretty Green’ group of golfers got together to complete a continuous 72 Holes of golf to raise money for Linkage.
Braving thunder and lightening, the team spent 15 hours playing their way around the course at Normanby Hall Golf Club.
After the event they estimated they had raised around £2000 but it seems they were well over par with that. The final amount has come in at an absolute ‘triple eagle’ amount of £3,368.75 (with gift aid).
There are lots of different reasons people choose to raise money for Linkage; here’s the story from the Pretty Green gang:
In May this year one of the Pretty Green members, Keith, gave his friends the news that his wife Carolyn has a brain tumour. As a gesture of support for Keith and Carolyn, the gang decided to donate their time and effort to raise money for a charity of Carolyn’s choice. Carolyn choose Linkage after a visit with her son Ben, who has Downs Syndrome, to our Weelsby College campus. They were blown away by the provision so wanted to support the work the college does.
We can’t thank the Pretty Green team of Keith, Andy, Dave, Dom, Makis, Mark, Pop, Sean, Steve and Wayne enough! And thank you to Carolyn for thinking of us, we wish her the very best.
