Linkage College is here to develop you as a whole person, not just help you to achieve academically. You’ll have a whole team around you to ensure that your personal, social, health and emotional needs are met and helping you to progress and achieve your full potential.
The team is made up of internal and external professionals from different areas, depending on your needs and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We’ll constantly monitor and reassess your needs to make sure our approach adapts as you grow, achieve, and progress.
Learning Mentors
When you join Linkage college you’ll be assigned one of our fantastic learning mentors.
They’ll support you academically, socially and emotionally throughout your time at Linkage.
Their job is to help you overcome any barriers to your learning and to support your engagement, achievement, and progress.
They’ll support you inside and outside the classroom, assisting with your specific learning needs, helping you to fully participate in activities and to develop your social skills.
Positive Behaviour Support and Clinical Team (PBS)
Sometimes our behaviour can become a barrier to learning, our in house PBS team support will support us when we face behaviour difficulties. Their aim is to understand what you are trying to communicate with us and help develop strategies and interventions to provide the best support throughout your college journey.
Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT)
Our team includes a qualified speech and language therapist who works across all our campuses and Linkage sites.
At Linkage we use a total communication approach with all of the people we support, to find the right combination of communication methods for you.
Our speech and language team can help to provide Makaton, British sign language and other non-verbal communication techniques to help you express yourself.
They’ll develop a unique speech, language and communication plan set targets to support your communication progress.
Clinical Support
Our team can support you when accessing external services including physiotherapists, hydro therapists, clinical psychologists, mental health practitioners, psychiatrists and more.
They work with our partners to assess your requirements and create a full program of support to facilitate your progress.
Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB)
Safeguarding is our top priority and we work with the LSCB to identify young people and vulnerable adults who are suffering, or who are likely to suffer harm, so that appropriate intervention measures can be taken or appropriate support put in place.
Protecting your health, well-being and human rights is of upmost importance to us.
