Why is Pot Luck a
social enterprise?
Pot Luck is a business
like any other business but instead of giving profits to shareholders
etc, we use the money to create real and sustainable employment and
training opportunities for people with learning disabilities. Social
enterprises can create employment where no employment exists and provide
people with the first step into getting a paid job.
How was Pot Luck
started?
Pot Luck is part of the
Linkage Enterprise the trading arm of Linkage Community Trust and has
received tremendous encouragement and support from organisations such as
Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire and the Community Economic
Regeneration Team.
Thanks to funding
support from the Neighbourhood Renewal Think Lincs project we were able
to prepare a comprehensive business plan to ensure we had all the right
things in place to start the new venture. Linkage
Enterprise produces a range of pottery from its premises in Grimsby and in
Mablethorpe and won the best stand award at the prestigious Footsey 100
Exhibition in York in 2007. The new premises in Cleethorpes provide both
showcase for local talent and a new and exciting tourist attraction. |
